Worshipful Brother Burt Walter Edgoose, B.Sc., J.P. (1901-1989), author of 'A Short History of Panmure Lodge No. 723'. He was a Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, a Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden, and a Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.

Not long before he died Raymond Thomas James Edgoose (1909-2005) said that his brother Burt was always closest to his sister Babs, whereas he was closest to his brother Frank and sister Winnie.

Burt Walter Edgoose (1901-1989) was educated at West End School and Aldershot County High School. At the age of 16 he entered Manchester University where he studied under Sir Ernest RUTHERFORD (later Lord RUTHERFORD), the first man to split the atom. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science (Engineering) with first-class honours in 1921.

Frank William Dawson Edgoose (1882-1951 was buried in Quinton Cemetery near Birmingham, Warwickshire, on 24 December 1951.
His wife Emma (1877-1957) joined him in 1957.
There daughter Doris Malisande Edgoose (108-2003) was buried in the same gave in 2003. The gravestone was replaced at this time.

Burt Walter Edgoose (1901-1989) described her as the most well educated and most cultured of all the Edgooses.

Elizabeth Edgoose (1881-1957) married William Wood (1882-1939) at Sunderland, County Durham, in 1910. She was buried in Newbottle Churchyard, County Durham. Her death was registered under the name Elizabeth M. WOOD. Does the M stand for Martha, her mother's Christian name?
The younger of their two sons, also named William, was awarded the OBE for services to medicine because of his work on the Salk polio vaccine in Canada.
