Acle, Norfolk, circa 1870 266.jpg
This rare photograph of the centre of the village of Acle in Norfolk was taken long before the roads were surfaced. Some indication of when the photograph was taken might be gleaned from the solitary street lamp, whether gas or electric. The premises of Richard Leeder (1820-1893) can be seen towards the top of the road on the right.
