    Agnes Rowley Edgoose (1845-1933), daughter of the Reverend Jesse and Eliza Edgoose, died at 6 Chestnut Avenue, Chorlton cum Hardy on 26 February 1933 and was buried in Manchester Southern Cemetery at Chorlton cum Hardy in the same grave as Ernest Crosby and her sister Adelaide Eliza Crosby.

      Agnes Rowley was born on 8 July 1845 at Victoria Street, Tunstall, Staffordshire, daughter of Jesse and Eliza EDGOOSE.

      Jesse EDGOOSE had married Eliza ROWLEY on 11 August 1841.

      The 1851 census returns for Northallerton, Yorkshire, list:
      Mary EDGOOSE, wife, aged 30, Wesleyan Minister's wife, born at Naburn, Yorkshire;
      Alfred James EDGOOSE, son, aged 7, born at Longton, Staffordshire;
      *Agnes Rowley EDGOOSE, daughter, aged 5, born at Tunstall, Staffordshire;
      Augusta EDGOOSE, daughter, aged 4, born at Leek, Staffordshire;
      Mary JACKSON, servant, aged 19, house servant, born at Osgodby, Yorkshire.

      The 1861 census for 13 Feasegate, St. Peter the Little, York:

      From The Mercury, Hobart, Tasmania, 14 July 1873:
      "INSUFFICIENTLY STAMPED - The following letters and newspapers were posted on Saturday insufficiently stamped:.......... Miss EDGOOSE, Bexley Heath, Kent."

      In the 1881 census returns for 57 Monkgate, York, she is listed as unmarried, 35 years old, with 'Income from Interest of Money'. She was living with her stepmother Mary EDGOOSE and her half-sister Lucilla Frances EDGOOSE.

      The 1891 census of 3 Belitha Villas, Thornhill Road, Islington, London:
      Marianne MELBOURNE, head, aged 69, widow, living on own means, born at Lincolns Inn, London.
      *Agnes R. EDGOOSE, cousin, aged 45, single, living on own means, born at Tunstall, Staffordshire.
      Florence HUMPHREY, nurse, aged 26, single, hospital nurse, born at Westcott, Surrey.

      The Post Office London Directory 1899 lists her at 1 Gatcombe Road, Islington, as 'Mrs. EDGOOSE'.

      The electoral for 1899-1903 list Agnes EDGOOSE at a house in 1 Gatcombe Road, Islington North.

      The 1901 census shows her to have been born in Walsall, Staffordshire, and to be living on own means at 1 Gatcombe Road, Islington, London. The census index lists her as Agnes R. EDGOORE. Also at that address was Lily Ann BULL, aged 24, her general domestic servant born in Lindsey, Suffolk.

      She was an executrix of the will of Thomas Daniel ROWLEY of 26 Fleming Road, Lorrimore Square, Surrey, who died on 4 January 1902.

      From 1907 to 1915 the electoral rolls list her in a house at 53, Crouch Hall Road, Crouch End.

      She was living at Crosby Dene, 53 Crouch Hall Road, Crouch End, London N8, in 1908 and in 1927 according to the wills of Alfred James EDGOOSE and Augusta EDGOOSE. Kelly's Directory of Middlesex 1914 also lists Miss EDGOOSE at 53 Crouch Hall Road.

      From the 1911 census of 53 Crouch Hall Road, Crouch End N, Edmonton, Middlesex:
      *Agnes R. EDGOOSE, head, single, aged 65, private means, born at Tunstall, Staffordshire;
      Maud BROOKES, cousin, single, aged 49, visitor, born in Sydney NSW;
      Gertrude BROOKES, cousin, single, aged 41, visitor, born in Sydney;
      Mary Ann BANKS, domestic servant, single, aged 29, general domestic servant, born at Yarmouth, Norfolk.

      As Agnes Rowley EDGOOSE the electoral rolls list her at 53 Crouch Hall Road, Crouch End, from 1924 to 1928.

      According to S. IRWIN, the Manchester solicitor, she moved to 22 Bath Road, Brixton, before joining her sister in Manchester.

      She was living at 38 High Lane, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, when she made a will on 23 February 1931. Directories show this address to have been occupied by E. PLEASANCE & Co., grocers, in 1930 and 1931. Number 38A High Lane was occupied by Chas. TURNER, boot-repairer, in 1929-1931.

      She died on 26 February 1933 at 6 Chestnut Avenue, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, and was buried at Manchester Southern Cemetery, Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, in the same grave as Ernest CROSBY and her sister Adelaide Eliza CROSBY.

      "This is the last will of me Agnes Rowley EDGOOSE of 38 High Lane Chorlton cum Hardy in the City of Manchester Spinster
      I revoke all other wills heretofore made by me
      I appoint my only sister Adelaide Eliza CROSBY of the same address Widow to be sole executor of this my will
      Subject to the payment of my funeral expenses debts and duty I devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate to my said sister Adelaide Eliza CROSBY
      As witness my hand this twentythird day of February 1931
