- SARAH PEACOCK late EDGOOSE formerly HARDWICK née BALES 1814-1874
Sarah, daughter of Benjamin BALES, labourer, and his wife Ann [sic] of Spalding, Lincolnshire, was baptised there Lincolnshire, on 23 December 1814.
The date and place of her parents' marriage has not yet been traced.
She was about eighteen years old when she married Charles HARDWICK at Spalding parish church on 25 September 1832. Charles signed the register and Sarah made her mark. Witnesses were John BALES, Mary ALLEN (X), and Theos SIMPSON.
Her husband Charles may have been dead by early 1841 because Sarah was living with her parents and brothers and sisters at Winsover, Spalding, at the time of the 1841 census - Sarah HARDWICK, staymaker (HO 107/610/4/31). There is no burial of Charles HARDWICK in the burial register of Spalding between 25 September 1832 and 30 June 1841, although a Charles HARDWICK was buried at Lincoln on 8 December 1836 aged 72.
She married Albert EDGOOSE, son of James and Mary EDGOOSE, at Spalding parish church on 1 June 1842. John BALES and Elizabeth EDGOOSE were witnesses.

Following the death of Albert EDGOOSE on 3 May 1847 she married Richard PEACOCK, tailor, son of watchmaker William PEACOCK, at Spalding Baptist Meeting House on 31 August 1848. She described herself as a staymaker.
James BLAKE and Jemima PEACOCK were witnesses.

In 1851 she was living at Westlode(?) Street, Spalding:

Richard PEACOCK is described as a tailor and woollen draper of Vine Street, Spalding, in White's 1856 Directory of Lincolnshire. Mrs. Sarah PEACOCK is listed as a staymaker.

Sarah PEACOCK, wife of Richard PEACOCK house agent, died at Pinchbeck Street, Spalding, on 15 October 1874. She was 59 years old. Her husband was present at the death.
