James Lewin EDGOOSE had married Emily WILLIAMSON at Walpole St. Andrew, Norfolk, on 13 October 1865.

Elizabeth Ann, daughter of James Lewin EDGOOSE, gardener, and his wife Emily, was baptised at West Walton, Norfolk, on 28 March 1869.

      (RG10/1617/77/9)

At the time of the 1881 census she was a 12 year old scholar living at Dam Road, West Walton:

      (RG11/1697/81/8)
Robert James EDGOOSE's place of birth differs from that given in the 1891 census.

She had a son Halbert EDGOOSE on 22 March 1891 who was brought up by her father.

The 1891 census returns show her at Dam Road, West Walton:

      (RG12/1306/65/1)

According to her grandson Graham Thomas EDGOOSE Halbert said that his mother used to work for William PRATT, a farmer, and that he was his father. Apparently PRATT was wealthy, and there was supposed to have been some sort of settlement, but it was never made. As a child Halbert used to play with one of PRATT's daughters. However, a William PRATT has not been traced at West Walton in the 1891 and 1901 census, although PRATTs were farming at West Walton at this time.
