    • MARY EDGOOSE née SHARP 1889-1942

      Mary SHARP was born at Emneth, Norfolk, on 6 January 1889, daughter of Robert Lynn SHARP and Eliza nee FAX (or FOX?). Her father was described as an Emneth farmer.

      Robert Lynn SHARP had married Eliza FOX in 1887.

      The 1891 census returns for Gaultry Road, Emneth, Norfolk:

      Eliza SHARPE, wife, aged 25, born at Wisbech in Cambridgeshire;
      Adlaide SHARPE, daughter, aged 11, scholar, born at Emneth;
      Jane SHARPE, daughter, aged 10, scholar, born at Emneth;
      Thomas SHARPE, son, aged 3, scholar, born at Emneth;
      *Mary SHARPE, daughter, aged 2, born at Emneth;
      Samuel SHARPE, son, aged 10 months, born at Emneth;
      John FOLLEN, single, aged 78, farm servant, born at Walpole, Norfolk.

      According to the 1901 census returns for Newfield, Emneth, Norfolk, Robt L. SHARP was a 45 year old farmer who was born at Emneth. At the same address were his wife Eliza, 33 years old and born at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and their three children, all of whom were born at Emneth: Thomas aged 13; Samuel aged 10; and Mary aged 12. A 31 year old schoolteacher, Georgiana ROBINSON, who was born at Over in Cambridgeshire, was boarding with them.

      She married Halbert EDGOOSE at Emneth Parish Church on 18 June 1913. She was described as a 24 year old spinster from Emneth and a farmer's daughter. Witnesses were Robert Lynn SHARP, Elizabeth Ann WEBB, and Mary Jane FOX.
