      Pinchbeck parish register contains a Memorandum dated 4 May 1683 concerning the wills of Mr. James RAWLETT, Francis HODKIN or HOGKIN, and Mr. WARRINOR. It was signed by the overseers of the poor John BETTS and Ralph BENNINGTON.

      From the Will of his daughter's husband Robert BETTS who was buried at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire,on 16 July 1703:
      " Item I doe Make My Loveing wife Jane my full and Sole Executrix of this My last will and Testament Revoaking all other former wills She paying all my debts and Bring up my said Sone John att the scoole until he shall attaine unto the age of Twenty & one yeares, and Bringing of my Body to Christian Burry all,
      Allsoe I doe Make and ordaine Ralph BENNINGTON of Pinchbeck aforesaid my father in law & John HAWKSWORTH of the Said Town Supervisors and trustees to see that my Sone Robt be Carefully brought up they taking him away from my Executrix if they See ....se [indecypherable] & bringing him up at Some other place as they or either of them Shall Think fitt & Convenyent they takeing & Receiving his rent for his Lands & tenements to pay for his Bringing up:"

      John CHAMBERLAIN of Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, whose Will was proved in 1712 made a bequest to "Mary ROBINSON Grandaughter to Ralph BENNINGTON Five pounds to be paid Six months after my decease".

      "In the Name of God Amen I Ralph BENNINGTON of Pinchbeck in the County of Lincoln gent[leman] being in good Health of Body & of Sound mind & Memory thanks be to God do make & Odein this my last Will & Testam[ent in Manner following
      And First I bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God & my Body to the Earth from whence it came
      And as for my worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth
      Imprimis I give to my Loving wife Elizabeth twelve pounds yearly so long as she shall continue my widow & no longer to be paid to her by my Executo[rs] or Sup[er]viso[rs] herein after named at four equall payments in every yeare (That is to Sayaay) the Feast of St John Baptist the Feast of St Michael the Arch Angell the Feast of the Nativity of our Blessed Lord & Savio[ur] & the Feast of the Annunc[i]ac[i]on of the Blessed Virgin Mary the first of which payments to begin at the first of the said Feasts which shall next happen after my decease
      Item I Give unto my said wife all the Furniture of that Chamber in my house which we now call the Greene Chamber & I give to her more in money Five pounds
      Item I Give to all & every the Sons & Daughters of William ROBINSON which he left by Ann my Daughter that are now living & to each & every of them twenty pounds to be paid to them by my Executo[rs] hereafter named when & assoone as they shall Attain their severall & respective Ages of one & twenty years
      Item I give unto Charles SHARP & Sam[ue]ll SHARP (the two Sons of Charles SHARP of Boston) & to each of them Fifty pounds to be paid to them when & assoone as they shall attain their Severall Ages of one & twenty years
      Item I give unto the Four Children of John HAWKSWORTH which he left by my daughter Jane & to each & every of them the sum[m]e of Forty pounds to be paid to them & to each and every of them as they shall severally & respectively Attain their Ages of one & twenty years
      Item I give unto Abigall the Daughter of Bridgett MOULTON twenty Shillings
      Item I give unto the Son of John BENNINGTON of Spalding Bricklayer five pounds to be paid to him when he shall Attain his Age of one & twenty years
      Item My Will & Mind is that if any of the Children of William ROBINSON shall depart this life before their Legacy or Legacys shall become due that the same shall go to the Survivo[r] or Survivo[rs] of them equally to be devided amongst them & alsoe that if any of the Children of John HAWKSWORTH shall depart this life before their Legacy or Legacys shall become payable that the same shall go to & amongst the Survivo[r] & Survivo[rs] of those children equally to be devided amongst them
      Item my will & mind farther is That there shall be two hundred pounds raised by my Executo[rs] of this my Will within one Month after my decease & paid into the hands of my Trustees or Sup[er]viso[rs] of this my Will & by them put out to Interest for securing the paym[en]t of my Wifes annuity in Manner & form as above menc[i]oned so long as she shall continue my widow & from & Immediately after my decease or day of Marriage of my said wife which shall first happen I Give Forty pounds ppart of the said two hundred pounds unto the s[ai]d Charles SHARP (one of the Sons of the s[ai]d Charles SHARP of Boston] And Forty pounds other part of the said two hundred pounds unto Sam[ue]ll SHARP (the other Son of the s[ai]d Charles SHARARP of Boston) And the Give threescore pounds other part of the said two hundred pounds unto the severall Children of the above named William ROBINSON which he left by my said daughter Anne & to the Survivo[r] & Survivo[rs] of them to be equally divided amongst them & to be paid to them as they shall Attaine their severall Ages of one & twenty years as aforesaid provided my wife shall be then dead or married & if not then Immediately after the death or Marriage of my said wife
      Item I also then give Sixty pounds thec remainder of the said two hundred pounds unto the Four children of the above named John HAWKSWORTH which he left by my daughter Jane & to the Survivo[r] & Survivo[rs] of them equally to be Divided amongst them & to be paid to them as they shall severally Attaine their respective Ages of one & twenty years or so soone after as my said wife shall happen to dye or be Married
      Item I Give twenty pounds to be laid out in land by the Trustees or Sup[er]viso[r] of this my Will with the Assistance & Approbac[i]on of Mr Theophilus BUCKWORTH of Spalding as soone as a convenient purchase can be mett all & selled [settled] upon them & such other Feoffees as they shall think fitt to chuse & Appoint & their Heirs & Assignes for ever to the Intent that the Rents Issues & profitts thereof may be yearly and every yeare for ever hereafter distributed upon St Thomas Day unto & amongst the poor Impotent & most needy people residing or to reside within the parish of Pinchbeck afores[ai]d & untill such purchase can be mett with my Will & mind is that the Interest of the s[ai]d twenty pounds shall be yearly given unto & amongst the s[ai]d poore as afores[ai]d
      Item I do hereby Nominate & Appoint Mr Edward DALE of Spalding mercer & Mr Squire HUDSON of the same Merchant Superviso[rs] & Trustees of this my Will And Give unto them all the rest of my Goods & Chattells not herein before devised or disposed on they paying my Debts Legacy & bringing my Body decently to the ground And I do also make & ordein them the said Edw[ar]d DALE & Squire HUDSON Executo[rs] of this my said Will hereby revoaking all former Wills by me made & declaring this p[re]sent writing consisting of two sheetes of paper (to each of which) I have sett my Mark & seale) to conteyne my last Will & Testam[en]t
