EARLY HISTORY OF BROWN COUNTY SOUTH DAKOTA
Clara Strohmeier Clark's article on her mother Elizabeth Edgoose (1852-1944). This 208 page history was presented to Michael James Edgoose from England at the end of his visit to Clara and Lawson V. Clark in April 1972.
The inscription inside the front cover reads "Love and Best Wishes From Clara and Lawson V. Clark 819.No. Washington St. Aberdeen, South Dakota 57401 April 14th 1972.
Clara Harriet Strohmeier (1894-1980) was the elder daughter of Elizabeth Edgoose (1852-1944) and wife of Richard Strohmeier (1865-1948). She was a member of the Brown County Territorial Pioneer Committee. Her article on Elizabeth Edgoose appears on pages 61, 62 and 63, and is reproduced here.
