"Death of Mr. T. PLOWRIGHT
This week we record the death of Mr. T. Plowright sen. of Pinchbeck at the ripe age of 93. As a thoroughly practical and very successful agriculturalist the deceased was widely and extensively known in this and neighbouring counties. Upon his reretirement from business from business the sale of his farming stock realised nearly £10,000, an amount which has never since been reached in this locality. He was a man of great firmness and energy, very fond of his business as a farmer to whicich he paid unremitting attention. He was an excellent master and kind neighbour. His business qualifications and local knowledge eminently fitted him for numerous offices of an honorary character in connection with parochial matters and with thhe important drainage of the district and his advice and opinion was often sought by important public movements. The late Lord Kesteven (who entertained a warm friendship for Mr. PLOWRIGHT) invariably consulted him upon all movements bearing upon drainage or agricultural topics. He was unpretentious in his habits and died at his native village of Pinchbeck on Saturday last much respected by all classes of society."
(Stamford Mercury 16 May 1879)
