WHAT: Notes sent to Michael James EDGOOSE by Helen Rose Davis HAWKINS, Mary Lucina's great granddaughter. She wrote: "One of the more interesting aspects of genealogy is studying a letter like this and coming to the realization of wrote it and who the people mentioned are.
My cousin Margaret Carolyn Martinie gave me this letter as well as the other papers that are mentioned in these notes. My mother (Dorcas Dorothy Edson Davis) told me the personal stories that are told in these notes."
The letter referred to is that from Lucinda A. EDGOOSE nee BACON (1838-1914) to her sister Mary Lucina BACON (1840-1911) on 12 May 1861. |
